Sapiential Data

Sapiential data is “why” data.  It tells you why things are the way they are.  It allows you to think for yourself.  It is philosophical in nature.  I can teach you THAT things are a certain way but then I would be indoctrinating you into my authority.  I thought I was the first person to notice that sapiential data had been removed from school curriculum’s until I started reading “Prometheus Rising” by Robert Anton Wilson in which he, noticing the same thing, said that it happened after and because of the hippy movement and Timothy Leary and the use of LSD.

When you remove sapiential data it presupposes that the authority figures know all that you are ever going to need to know, and you can neatly fit in that box and survive.  But you have to remember what they know was relevant 30 to 50 years ago and you might not be prepared for new threats, and if you don’t know how to get the answer yourself or recognize the truth you have to return to the epistemelogical priest craft, which begs the question, what if they are dead?  is everything known?  If I know where to find the answer do I know the answer?

Their is a kernel of wisdom in this germ of truth, but it has to be taken with a grain of salt…
