New International Version
Babylon, the Prostitute on the Beast
1One of the seven angels who had the seven bowls came and said to me, “Come, I will show you the punishment of the great prostitute, who sits by many waters. 2With her the kings of the earth committed adultery, and the inhabitants of the earth were intoxicated with the wine of her adulteries.”
3Then the angel carried me away in the Spirit into a wilderness. There I saw a woman sitting on a scarlet beast that was covered with blasphemous names and had seven heads and ten horns. 4The woman was dressed in purple and scarlet, and was glittering with gold, precious stones and pearls. She held a golden cup in her hand, filled with abominable things and the filth of her adulteries. 5The name written on her forehead was a mystery:
BABYLON THE GREAT
THE MOTHER OF PROSTITUTES
AND OF THE ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.
6I saw that the woman was drunk with the blood of God’s holy people, the blood of those who bore testimony to Jesus.
When I saw her, I was greatly astonished. 7Then the angel said to me: “Why are you astonished? I will explain to you the mystery of the woman and of the beast she rides, which has the seven heads and ten horns. 8The beast, which you saw, once was, now is not, and yet will come up out of the Abyss and go to its destruction. The inhabitants of the earth whose names have not been written in the book of life from the creation of the world will be astonished when they see the beast, because it once was, now is not, and yet will come.
9“This calls for a mind with wisdom. The seven heads are seven hills on which the woman sits. 10They are also seven kings. Five have fallen, one is, the other has not yet come; but when he does come, he must remain for only a little while. 11The beast who once was, and now is not, is an eighth king. He belongs to the seven and is going to his destruction.
12“The ten horns you saw are ten kings who have not yet received a kingdom, but who for one hour will receive authority as kings along with the beast. 13They have one purpose and will give their power and authority to the beast. 14They will wage war against the Lamb, but the Lamb will triumph over them because he is Lord of lords and King of kings—and with him will be his called, chosen and faithful followers.”
15Then the angel said to me, “The waters you saw, where the prostitute sits, are peoples, multitudes, nations and languages. 16The beast and the ten horns you saw will hate the prostitute. They will bring her to ruin and leave her naked; they will eat her flesh and burn her with fire. 17For God has put it into their hearts to accomplish his purpose by agreeing to hand over to the beast their royal authority, until God’s words are fulfilled. 18The woman you saw is the great city that rules over the kings of the earth.”
To quote my friend, Lon Milo Duquette, the bible was written by cabalists for cabalists and much of it wasn’t meant for common perusal. The rabbinical science of PaRDeS was a means of concealing and revealing meaning. In order to use it you have to be familiar with Qabbalah, and if you haven’t gained proficiency therein you will never be able to uncover the hidden meaning correctly. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pardes_(Jewish_exegesis)
The seven angels with the seven bowl is a reference to the Jewish matrika shakti, the spirits that rule over the 7 planets and days of the week. Sun day, Moon Day, Tyrs day, Thors day, freya’s day, and Saturn’s day. It is also a reference to the 7 hills on which Rome was founded. Prometheus was punished by having to roll a boulder over a hill for all eternity. Where a planet is in its orbit is referred to as either Prometheus or Epimetheus.
Now we don’t know exactly when the Jews Helenized but I believe I can cast some light on that subject but let us consider the positions of Aristotle on the subject of money.
“The life of money-making is one undertaken under compulsion, and wealth is evidently not the good we are seeking; for it is merely useful and for the sake of something else.”
“Yes the truth is that men’s ambition and their desire to make money are among the most frequent causes of deliberate acts of injustice.”
Aristotle felt that Merchants should be slaves, which is to say non citizens, and that they should never be allowed to rule or gain political office. Furthermore he was mistrustful of Sailors/Merchants as purveyors of vice and disease. Interestingly, it is maritime law that is responsible for going to war, not domestic law as it is imprudent for one group to declare war on another in a city state. Maritime law determines going to battle based on an inequity of trade, or a deal gone south. Compare that to the concept of: “Come, I will show you the punishment of the great prostitute, who sits by many waters”. Prostitution is a business, a prostituting of one self for money.
“With her the kings of the earth committed adultery, and the inhabitants of the earth were intoxicated with the wine of her adulteries.”
Everybody enjoys the benefits of Capitalism, but don’t seem to understand that the rewards it offers are secondary to the fact that these huge corporations, multi-nationals are taking money out of your house/oikos/economy and investing it for their own benefit, not yours. Which means that over time they will have all the money and all of the control and you will be their slaves.
The English words “economy” and “economics” can be traced back to the Greek words οἰκονόμος (i.e. “one who manages a household”), a composite word derived from οἶκος(“house”) and νέμω (“manage; distribute”) by way of οἰκονομία (“household management”). ~wikipedia
Big business sells your labor and makes a profit off of it. This is an up down relationship not a horizontal democratic relationship. if you are selling your own products and services, small business, you are the equal to the customer. If your services and products are being sold by a large corporation you are inferior to your boss and to the customer. Your boss gets rewarded for making more money off of you, while giving you less reward. Your boss benefits from illegal immigration because he can force you to compete with poor cultures that will work for less. So not only do you support them because they can’t afford licensing and insurance, and they live 20 people to a house, working 2 or more full time jobs and sending 2/3s of their income back to their poor country so that their parents who had 20 children can live an easy life without working, but you also have to compete with them. You are now the equal of a slave in your own country, TA-DAA! CONGRATULATIONS! YOU ARE SO LUCKY! AREN’T YOU GLAD YOU INDUSTRIALIZED?
If you examine the story of Moses you see an inescapable parallel between the creation of the Chassidim by Rabbi Ba’al Shem Tov and Moses. The Hebrew word Mizraim refers to Egypt but it also refers to the Nations, specifically big nations with large economies and love of money.
Now notice Jesus didn’t say that money, was the root of all evil, but THE LOVE OF MONEY. Who loves money? Merchants. Bankers. Usurers. Shylocks.
I am personally of the opinion that the Jewish reformation was to remove a mentality that had crept into the Jewish faith. That of the Persians. To this day Persians have an elitist, superior mentality. Consider how the Greeks perceived the Persians who would adorn their hair with gold before they went into battle, they would braid their hair like women and they would put on eye make up like women. To this day Muslims in Saudi Arabia and Egypt consider themselves too important to pick up their own filth, it is not a sustainable society. They bring slaves from Somalia to do it for them,
Abid (Arabic: عبد, plural Abeed عبيد or El Abeed العبيد)is a derogatory term meaning “slave” used mainly in Arab countries and is usually applied as an insult to Black people to invoke stereotypes. The name has been explained as being an allusion to the submission that Muslims owe to Allah. Meyer[attribution needed] dismisses this as “efforts by propagandists [to] explain the term away [that are] at the least, disingenuous”. ~wikipedia.
And in Egypt it is the pigs and dogs on the street that eat the garbage that everybody is too important to take care of themselves. The Kosher diet is very humble, very sustainable, very bland, it isn’t suitable for a people that consider themselves royalty and superior to others.
11They said to Moses, “Was it because there were no graves in Egypt that you brought us to the desert to die? What have you done to us by bringing us out of Egypt?12Didn’t we say to you in Egypt, ‘Leave us alone; let us serve the Egyptians’? It would have been better for us to serve the Egyptians than to die in the desert!” exodus 14:
24So the people grumbled against Moses, saying, “What are we to drink?” exodus 15:
4The rabble with them began to crave other food, and again the Israelites started wailing and said, “If only we had meat to eat! 5We remember the fish we ate in Egypt at no cost—also the cucumbers, melons, leeks, onions and garlic. 6But now we have lost our appetite; we never see anything but this manna!” numbers 11:
The economy is not coming back. In order for there to be capitalism you need some kind of large surplus to exploit. Something you have a lot of that you can give away at a small profit. We don’t have anything like that anymore. Furthermore you have to have the energy to do it. We don’t have gas anymore in the same quantities. Not everybody can afford to industrialize because they would need fossil fuels. We are rapidly seeing that atomic energy is not all it is cracked up to be, and it is not a viable solution for future energy. We need another source of energy and nothing is on the horizon.
