This is a painting I did based on my having rationalized so many occult systems.  I have not only wrapped my mind around the original metaphorical and allegorical meaning of the people that created the systems.  I look from their perspective.  They were all saying the same thing in different ways and when they appear to disagree with one another it is because of Shenanigans on the part of people in relationship with their authority.  They conceal the origins of their religion, and the connections of their religion to other religions.  They transliterate their prophets to conceal vital interpretations, rescuing their prophets from themselves when what they said and did are contrary to the current taboos of society.  What this does is attenuate the light and obfuscate the truth, it makes the message impotent.  

The red door in this painting is symbolic of kundalini and is also an escape from this plane into higher spiritual planes in th form of tantra.  The two serpents represent the Ida and the Pingala of kundalini, the male and female serpents that wrap around the sushumna, or the spine, the same two serpents that were eaten up by the staff of moses.  Also on the staff of merlin there were two warring dragons, fighting over the pearl of immortality, in that symbol the wings are on the dragons instead of being on the pearl such as in the aten of Egypt.  

Also the founding books of Modern Voodoo are the 6th and 7th books of moses.  If you read the account of moses correctly you realize that he is using voodoo curses to bring to its knees a power greater than himself with more resources than he has.  Voodoo has always been the weapon of revolution when one was fighting a superior foe with next to no resources. 

The light coming threw the door takes on the shape of the morning star, the herald of the light, the first celestial body that appears to signal the coming of dawn and the rising of the sun.  When Jesus referred to himself as the morning star was he not referring to himself as the devil?  the light bearer?  the Ferrier of light?  Lucky fire? Lucifer?

Light of The World, Iconographic Art of Joxua MourningStar

 

I started painting this after Michael Jackson’s untimely demise.  It was devastating for me.  I didn’t get to go to his funeral either, I wish I had gone because they changed their minds and let people in and I would have gotten to go in.  

You see, I was raised Jehovah’s Witness.  MJ and I have a connection.  When he was disfellowshipped I was no longer allowed to listen to his music.  My family was very strict.  Peter Appleton an elder from his congregation harassed me when I was dating my first girl friend who was coming to meetings but who hadn’t been baptized.  He threatened to disfellowship me if I didn’t stop seeing her.  It was ironic because he had 7 ex-wives and 20 children none of whom had ever been baptized and yet he was in good standing.  I sold all of my shit and disappeared to Washington state with my fiance.  Things didn’t work out and I ended up on the street.  I felt literally no connection with my family so I never even thought to call them.  Everybody thought I was dead and I am glad.  I am dead to them.  

Long story short I ended up moving to Woodland Hills and I got hired at Whole Foods.  On the way to work I would drive past MJ’s congregation, it was a weird coincidence.  I also ran into one of his brothers, Tito, he was unpleasant. 

I know that Michael was attracted to boys that age because he wanted to save himself at that age.  He was sympathetic to them being a child star as he was with an overbearing father.  He was trying to rescue himself by rescuing them.  I know what it is like to be a misunderstood ecstatic mystic.  He wasn’t trying to throw his baby over the balcony he was enthusiastic, he wanted to share his happiness with the people that loved him.  He would never hurt that baby, he loved it more than his own life.  He just wasn’t thinking about how he looked he was thinking about how he felt.  

I feel bad for people like Michael and Tom Cruise.  I think about what a man has to do to try to ensure he has access to his kids in this day and age when you are rich and powerful and male and everybody wants a piece of you.  You want to be an influence in their lives.  This culture hates masculinity, intelligence, and talent.  We are surrounded by morons that feel thwarted by their lack of…. everything, but especially talent.  It is as though they think awesomeness is a finite resource and people like us and Charlie Sheen are using too much of it. 

Michael Jackson was a Maha Jagad Guru a world teacher.  He touched every person in the world.  He changed global culture.  He was a creative Genius.  He was in his way a shaktipat guru.

Light of the world is done as a visual homage to Shiva Nataraja.  MJ is dancing in the sun.  See Michael and I are named after the same namesake Joxua was Jesus name when he was incarnate, but Witnesses believe that before he incarnated he was the archangel Michael, so the synchronicities never really cease.  I was always hoping that maybe Janet Jackson would buy this from me.  I feel that she and his children are the one’s that received his guru grace.  He passed on his spiritual lineage to them.  Even now I am tearing up as I write this.  It is cathartic.  I get so much shit for my feelings about Michael, but that doesn’t stop me.  I don’t care, haters gonna hate.

ANGEL TIDE

 

I painted this a while back after I started using my psycholinguistic model to deconstruct the narrative that we get through media and then using my psychological model to see how people and groups of people would interpret it on an unconscious level.  I used the concepts of emotional data, and experiential data, and survival data, it is based on hermeneutics.  Long story short, I predicted a coming suicide epidemic that would disparately impact men and young men.  Guess what?  I was right.  Angel tide was all of the souls from the dead youngsters, that is what it means.

This piece is surreal and abstract, it has a lot of emotional impact. It is beautiful, peaceful, and at the same time full of action and a hint of sadness, contemplation even.

This symbolizes the strategic mind play of terrestrial minds. One side of the checkered floor dips off into a fiery hell while the other side disappears into a lavender fog. The floor itself hovers upon nothing, the mind that transcends the game rises above it and is not dependent on it for stability. The sun rises in one eye and sets in the other. The title is of the two names for the morning star and the evening star before it was known that they were one and the same. Seven rays of illumination come from the third eye.

I painted this piece with some Maori tribal designs and a sunset, it is very meaningful to me for many reasons not the least of which is the correlation with the in breaths and out breaths of Brahma, and his vamana being a swan.  I identify with the black swan.

Nassim Nicholas Taleb, one of my favorite authors wrote a book called the black swan about unpredictable events being the major mover of the stock market.  The swan represents to me those unpredictable events.  People are epistemicly arrogant they over value what they know and they undervalue what they don’t know and they bias mine to prove themselves correct and ignore evidence that they are wrong.

There is also a cognitive bias associated with it.  If one thinks that all swans are white then anything that doesn’t directly confront that incorrect belief supports it.  Which means if you see a black crow, or a pink flamingo it confirms your incorrect belief that all swans are white.  This kind of thinking prevents people from detecting their own horse shit and it makes an environment rich for outliers, people and events you never see coming….

Just because it has never happened before that you know of, doesn’t mean that something is preventing it from happening.  Life doesn’t have any narrative that it has to fulfill.
